Some fan mail from our readers of all ages:
I really liked The Airport Kid, and more than that, I think I learned something! I know I sometimes jerk the controls around a bit ‘cause I’m nervous, or losing altitude or gaining airspeed, or all those things that I try to do better.

Thinking of the planes talking to each other about those pilots who are smooth and careful with the controls; the idea that the planes get stiff and sore when they’re handled roughly—well, it all kind of gave me a slightly different approach to flying.

Thank you for the book.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Jopling,

I was at the book festival in Baltimore and I got your book. I just finished reading it and I thought it was a really good story. I am 10 years old. I was wondering if you wrote any other books that I might enjoy. It was nice to meet you. Thank you for signing my copy.

Sincerely--Alec
